Yet Another Budget Ignores Small Businesses

Despite employing over half of those in work in the UK, it still seems like the government has no desire whatsoever to help small businesses. The pre-budget report from Alistair Darling has unveiled numerous plans that will hinder SME's even further...

The small business corporation tax rate has been left at the increased 22%. The planned changes to private equity taxation (a flat rate 18% Capital gains tax for investors) is likely to damage funding for new small businesses. Not only that, but there is talk of local government to tax business for the purpose of developing infrastructure and economic improvements. (Which makes me wonder where that increased 22% actually goes...)

When will the government start treating Small Business with the same care they show big businesses?
